WhatsApp Messenger is one of the most popular text messaging app of all time; it provides people with a platform to chat and share photos and videos.
At some point, a lot of users prefer to use WhatsApp over iMessage because it offers cross-platform services, which means that a photo or a video can easily be shared from an iPhone to an Android device.
So what’s the problem?
Now as the world is modernizing each day, people are moving from their smartphones to their smartwatches. Many people favor using their Apple Watch to reply to texts and for some other small tasks.
In this case, I’m talking about the ability to use WhatsApp on the Apple Watch. This is something that I have seen people talk about. Unfortunately, it is not possible to do so as the official WhatsApp Messenger app is not supported on the Apple Watch.
Why is WhatsApp Not Presented on the Apple Watch?
The size of the screen is an obvious reason. It is a tough job to port an app like WhatsApp to the Apple Watch. Even if there will be a version, then it will provide the basic features like composing a plain text message rather than allowing users to send photos, documents, or other advanced features.
Replying to incoming messages
With this method, you can at least respond to any incoming WhatsApp messages that you receive right on your Apple Watch.
- Make sure that you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Notifications > WhatsApp Messenger
- Enable Allow Notifications and Show in Notification Centre
- Badge App Icon and Sounds are optional
- Go back to your home screen and open the Watch app
- Navigate to My Watch > Notifications
- Scroll down through the list of apps until you find WhatsApp
- Toggle on the button next to it
Quick Tip: Be sure to disable the Do not Disturb mode on your Apple Watch as well. Click here to learn more about the Notification system on your watch.
This method probably wasn’t something you guys entirely want. I understand that it doesn’t come close to anything like a fully supported WhatsApp app on the Apple Watch. However, for the time being, replying to incoming texts is the only thing you can do.
