If you want to watch something funny go on YouTube, see what’s trending there are Twitter and Facebook. And if you want to check out amazing photos being shared around the web we have Instagram.
As long as you have the iPhone in your hands, pretty much everything is accessible.
Although these are all free entertainment that comes with an iOS device or any other smartphone, sometimes we missed streaming live television. But not everyone can afford to pay for a subscription from HBO and other similar channels.
I recently found an app called Channels, released as a .IPA file that was shared on Reddit will allow you to watch live TV right on your iPhone and iPad.
The best part is…
How to Watch Live Television Channels on your iPhone
- Click here to download the Channels .IPA file
- Grab the latest version of Cydia Impactor from this post
- Connect your iOS device to the computer
- Generate a App-Specific password from the Apple Login page
- Open up Cydia Impactor and drag-n-drop the .IPA file to it
- Enter your Apple ID (email address and the password from Step 4
Now you just have to wait for Cydia Impactor to sideload the application.
At first, the Channels app didn’t work on my iPhone 6s Plus. However, after restarting my device I was able to start watching Live TV.
When you open the app, it gives you a variety of different channels and categories. These can range from Sports to Lifestyle with popular names like:
- Sky Sports
- Fox Sports
- Box Nation
- Comedy Central
- Discovery Channel
- Disney Channel
- and many more.
The only downside is that the application requires you to watch a short ad video before proceeding to a channel. This will always happen when you switch from one channel to another as well.
But hey, there are ads on actual TV as well. Channels is a free app, so it doesn’t bother me if I have to watch a few ads here and there.
