SoundCloud is not one of the best streaming services for music lovers (according to Consumer Reports), but there are still tons of active listeners on there.
Just like any other music streaming apps, SoundCloud needs to be connected to Wi-Fi. Therefore, it created a problem for offline listening. Further, SoundCloud doesn’t allow downloading from its official iPhone or iPad app.
In today’s tutorial, we will show you several ways to save SoundCloud songs to iPhone for offline use.
Start with something everyone can use
The subheading is evident, isn’t it? Whether your iOS device is jailbroken or not, you can still use this method. There’s new app called DownCloud that allows you to download SoundCloud music to your iPhone without Jailbreak.
And here is what you need to do:
- Open Safari browser on your iPhone
- Navigate to iosem.us
- Press on the first button which is Install Now
- Launch the new iOSEmus app on your home screen
- Tap on the open list to see all available emulators and apps. You will find DownCloud within the category
- Select Install and proceed
When the installation is completed, you will find a separate icon on your home screen. Tap on it to open DownCloud and you will see 3 options on the bottom of the screen.
The first one is for downloaded songs, the middle is where you can find your playlist, and lastly, the search feature that connect to SoundCloud server. Use the third option to look for your favorite songs and then download it from there.
For jailbroken users, SaveCloud is what you’ve been looking for.
This is a new jailbreak tweak that makes it possible for iOS users to download songs quickly from the SoundCloud application directly to their iPhone.
Released by the developer Majd Alfhaily (@freemanrepo) this tweak is now available from his self-hosted Cydia repo for free. We will show you how to install SaveCloud tweak right below.
Step 1: Launch Cydia > Sources > Edit
Step 2: On the popup, enter the following URL: https://apt.alfhaily.me/
Step 3: Once the repo is added, go directly to it and tap on the Tweaks folder
Step 4: Scroll down until you find SaveCloud
Step 5: Tap Install and Respring
Wait a few seconds for your iPhone or iPad to restart and use SoundCloud as you normally do. The only different is that there’s now a Download Track button below the Add to a Playlist.
To download a song, look at the navigation on the bottom of the screen, you will see a download icon. Tap on that and it will show you the current status and download percentage of each downloading track.
