As people updating to newer iOS version, they slowly realize that some of their favorite third-party apps are no longer working.
This happens because Apple tried to fix loopholes that allow these apps to be installed. Recently, they patched the certificate that many users use to jailbreak their iOS 9.3.3 directly on the device.
iRec used to be a popular screen recorder for iPhone developed by iNoCydia.
It has some outstanding features:
- Jailbreak isn’t required
- Easy to use
Unfortunately, the app stopped working on newer firmware a long time ago. As a result, many moved on to using AirShou, QuickTime (if you have a Mac), and similar software-based utility.
But here is the good news for those that have been waiting….
iRec 2.0 is here and it’s better than ever.
Last year, the dev of iRec demoed a working version of the app on iOS 9.2. This firmware isn’t old at all.
With that being said, iRec 2.0 is promised to work with whatever iOS that your iPhone or iPad is running on, even some of the latest one.
- iOS 9.3.3 or lower
- and iOS 10 beta
You didn’t see that coming huh?
How to Install iRec on your iOS without Jailbreak
The app is having a soft-lauched right now so you better hurry up.
- Go to iRec official site by clicking here (on your computer)
- Scroll down and click on Download IPA under iRec for iOS 9-10
- Click here to get Cydia Impactor
- Drag and drop the .iPA onto the software and sign in using your Apple ID
- After that, iRec will be signed and installed on your iPhone
Wait a few minutes for iRec to download on your device. Once the app’s icon is fully visible, launch it. If you can’t open the app, follow this tutorial.
One of the many things I like about iRec is that it’s easy to use. The simple interface will let you navigate and use the application with ease.
Now that you’ve successfully record the screen of your iPhone, you have several options.
- Save it to the Camera Roll
- Upload it to media streaming sites (YouTube, Twitch, etc.)
- Share it on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+
OR whatever you can come up with. Enjoy!
How to Install EveryCord and Record Your iOS 10
When it comes to recording the screen of your iOS device, there are tons of different applications. For example, AirShou, Display Recorder (a jailbreak tweak), and Vidyo.
If you have a Mac computer, be it a Macbook Air or iMac, you don’t even need any of these apps. In fact, you can just leave this post now. I would go with the QuickTime recording option that already existed (provided by Apple).
What if I don’t meet the qualification?
Well, in that case, EveryCord could be one of the best options, considering it works on both iOS 9 and 10. And again, you do not need a jailbreak for this.
- Click here to download the EveryCord.ipa file
- You will also need to get Cydia Impactor installed on your computer as well.
- Locate the IPA file (move it to your desktop if you want) and then drag / drop it to Cydia Impactor
- A popup will be displayed asking you for your Apple ID and Password
- Enter those credentials and wait for EveryCord to be installed
Open your iPhone or iPad and see if the app is on the home screen yet. It should be, or else you would’ve gotten an error from Cydia Impactor.
Can I Do It Directly on my iOS Device?
Heck yes, you can!
If you don’t have access to a computer at the moment, you can still install EveryCord without leaving your iPhone screen. All you have to do is visit the official site > tap on the “iOS install” button > Follow the on-screen instructions.
Before you open EveryCord, be sure to go to Settings > Device Management > Select the app > Trust. Without this step, you won’t be able to open the screen recorder.
When everything is ready, open EveryCord on your iOS device. Unlike other apps, EveryCord won’t have a visible “Record” button. Instead, you have to enter something in the “Recording Name” box and hit Done.
This will then trigger a popup that says, “Are you sure you want to continue with the recording named…”. As soon as you tap on Yes, your screen will be under recording mode.
Users can also customize EveryCord based on their liking. For example, changing the Resolution to 480p – 1080p, FPS, configure the audio source, and much more.
