Beehind: New downgrade tool for iOS on Windows without SHSH

Downgrade iOS firmware is becoming a trending topic since the release of OdysseusOTA, which allows jailbroken users to downgrade their iPhone or iPad to older firmware without SHSH blobs. The downside of it though is the lack of supportive iOS versions and devices.

At the moment, OdysseusOTA and its second version only has support for iPhone 4s and iPad 2 and will only let you downgrade back to iOS 6.1.3. A new downgrade tool called Beehind is aiming to change that. This downgrade utility is currently in beta, this means there will be more features and more improvements in the future.

Beehind is a tool developed for Windows, and it requires at least Windows Vista or higher. All iOS devices using 32bit CPUs are supported.

  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 5
  • iPhone 5C
  • iPad 2
  • iPad 3
  • iPad 4
  • iPad Mini 1
  • iPod touch 4G
  • iPod touch 5G

Beehind Downgrade Features

rp_downgrade-ios-firmware.jpg

  1. Downgrade of ALL 32-bit based devices to ALL iOS versions with known decryption keys.
  2. Tethered Downgrade (without SHSH) of ALL A4 devices (exploitable with limera1n) to ALL iOS Versions + tethered boot utility
  3. Fully automated downgrades/restores without the use of iTunes. Beehind will do everything with just one click!
  4. (maybe) Repartition, Dual Boot and permanent Jailbreak in a different partition (Yes, theorically kloader can make this possible)

As mentioned earlier, Beehind is still in beta, which means there are some more works needed to be done in order for all features to be supported. If do you give this tool a try, be sure to let its developers know if you find any bugs or problems during the downgrade stages.

One thing I can ensure though is that Beehind is easier than OdysseusOTA in term of usability because all you have to do is connect your iOS device and click Build IPSW. Not to indicate that it will be compatible with more devices.

Here is a video showing you how to use Beehind to downgrade without SHSH blobs.

Quick Tip: Save your iOS SHSH Blobs

TSSChecker is a new tool released by developer tihmstar that allows you to save SHSH blobs of a beta version for your iPhone or iPad (iOS 10 as of writing this post).

What’s the point of saving blobs you asked? Well, if you have a jailbroken iOS device, having your SHSH blobs saved will give you the ability to downgrade back to the previous firmware just in case you accidentally upgrade to a newer iOS version which isn’t jailbreable yet.

How to Use TSSChecker

Before we begin, there are some materials you need to download.

After that, see the instructions below.

  1. When your iOS 10 IPSW is done downloading, change its extension to .ZIP and unzip it.
  2. You should see a file called BuildManifest.plist
  3. Create a folder name TSS and drop both TSS Checker and the BuildManifest files in there
  4. Open Terminal and type in: cd (grab and drop your folder in step 3) then press return
  5. Copy and paste this: ./tsschecker -d device model -s -e device ECID# -m BuildManifest.plist
  6. Press return

Device model should look like example

##iPhone7,2 no space between the device or model number

Once you have done all of that, your SHSH blobs should be saved. Enjoy and be sure to follow @2Klasic on Twitter for sharing the original tutorial.

  1. Had high hopes to finally downgrade my sluggish old ipad2 with iOS 9.1 to a previous iOS to get back the more responsive iPad I used to have.

However, downgrading with this tool still needs a jailbroken device, so pretty useless for many of us stuck in a new iOS that either want to jailbreak or just want to revert to an older iOS.

This tool seems to have so much potential if it could do it’s job on non-jailbroken devices, however it is probably only useful for a happy few, not for the majority whose reasons to downgrade will be to be able jailbreak.

  4. Is your software can work with icloud lock iphone 4s that has a ios 9.2?
can it be possible to downgrade into ios 6.1.3?
    Thanks hope it works….

    • No, even iOS 5 has icloud lock enabled in the activation menu (cuz iOS 5 came with iCloud). The only way to bypass an iCloud lock by downgrading is on the iPhone 4 getting back to iOS 4 and then update to the iOS version you want (if you have the tools or shsh).

  5. Note that Beehind’s non-SHSH downgrade method won’t work for an iPad 2 version 2,4 (released in March 2012) because its decryption keys weren’t made public. If you have this model then you’re pretty much SOL unless you have the SHSH blobs, but who actually saved those? Seriously, 99.9% of Apple users wouldn’t have even *heard* of SHSH blobs until they already upgraded and then started desperately surfing for ways to downgrade again. 🙁

  16. Hi it seems ipad mini 1 is not supported by this…
after i chose the proper firmware (iPad2,7_6.1.3_10B329_Restore), a window pops out saying this beta of beehind only supports these combos: downgrade to ios 6.1.3 for iphone 4 GSM, iphone 4s, ipad 2GSM, ipad 2 cdma, and ipad 2 wifi without shsh blobs.
Saw ipad mini in your post, did i do something wrong? or is there any other way?
    Thanks!

  20. Hello everyone, I’ve been looking for a downgrade to iOS 7.1.2 on my iPhone 4S. I’ve already downgraded it to iOS 6.1.3 which I loved but I can’t install WhatsApp and I really need it. I downgraded the 4S to 8.4.1 and feels better than iOS 9 but still feels laggy and battery life is not great. So my 2 questions are:

    1. Is there a way to do downgrade to 7.1.2?
    2. Or is there a way to install WhatsApp on iOS 6.1.3? I’ve already tried downloading it from AppCake and installing it with AppSync the app won’t even open. I tried changing the ProductVersion on the SystemVersion.plist to 7.1.2, even changed my date to 2016 and it just won’t open.

Please let me know.. I do have an iPhone 6S but I just don’t like it like my beautiful 4S
