Several hours again, someone from the r/Jailbreak subreddit requested a jailbreak tweak that will let them have access to Pokemon Go right from their lock screen.
Six hours later, developer Ziph0n made it happen with his new tweak called Pokemon Lock. This package from his repository is very simple and straightforward, allowing you to play Pokemon Go right from your lockscreen.
It has been only a few days after this game was released in several countries yet it has taken over the internet. During that time, jailbroken users also got a chance to try out some tweaks from Cydia that enhance their experience with Pokemon Go as well.
We wrote an article on how to make the game thinks your device doesn’t have Cydia, then how to tap on the map to walk instead of walking in real life, and now playing Pokemon Go without unlocking your iPhone lock screen. This makes having jailbroken iPhone more exciting and relevant than ever.
How to Install Pokemon Lock tweak
You won’t be able to find this tweak from your default sources.
Step 1: Go to Cydia and wait until all your sources are reloaded
Step 2: Switch over to the Sources tab and add the following URL: http://repo.ziph0n.com/
Step 3: After that, you can either go inside the repo to look for Pokemon Lock or using the search option
Once the tweak is installed, it should work right out of the box. There is one downside to this, though. For Pokemon Go to be accessible via your lockscreen, the Passcode feature must be disabled.
If not, either the game will crash or won’t work at all. Last but not least, this will apparently kill your battery life faster than ever. If you’re going to go outside, be sure to bring an extra power bank.
