A few months ago, we wrote a review on a recent downgrade tool called odysseusOTA 2. This utility will allow you to downgrade your iPhone or iPad running on any iOS versions back to iOS 8.4.1.
Why is this still possible? Well, simply because Apple still open the signing window for 8.4.1 firmware but only for a certain devices.
Before you get too excited, below are the type of iOS device that is compatible with this tool.
iPhone 5, iPad2, iPad3, iPhone 4s
Since the OTA Blobs are still available for these iPhone and iPad, the developer of odysseusOTA 2, was able to obtain their keys and makes it possible to downgrade back to iOS 8.1.4.
Most of you already know this stuff but besides limited in compatible devices, this tool also doesn’t support Mac. But not anymore. odysseusOTA now works on Mac OS X El Capitan because @pimskeks updated libirecovery.
You can grab the current newest version of odysseusOTA 2 here (v1.0.4). Watch the video below if you need help getting started.
