This is one of my new favorite tools, and I just realize that it’s going to do so much more than just getting a sideloaded version of Poke Go ++.
Cydia Impactor was originally a tweak that lets you remove the jailbreak and get back to the stock iOS settings. The package later on renamed as Cydia Eraser.
But the Cydia Impactor that we know today will allow you to sign .ipa into your iPhone and iPad.
How often do you want to use Xcode on your Windows?
Isn’t a lot it? Sadly, it never comes true since it was certainly not compatible with Windows-based computers.
Xcode is a software development tools developed by Apple. Developers uses this to create different apps for several operating systems such as the iPhone OS, macOS, and watchOS.
While can be useful, the only restriction that it has is staying a Mac-only software. As a Window user, I sometimes have to run a Virtual Machine to use Xcode.
How to Sign iOS Apps using Cydia Impactor
As noted by its developer, Cydia Impactor is still in development. If you experience any issues, please report it.
Step 1: The first thing you want to do is download Cydia Impactor. Select Mac OS X, Windows, Linux (32-bit), or Linux (64-bit)
Step 2: Launch the program
Step 3: Connect your iOS device to the computer
Step 4: Cydia Impactor will recognize and display your iPhone or iPad via its option
Step 5: Have an .ipa ready then drag & drop it on to Cydia Impactor
Step 6: Use your Apple ID and sign in
After that, you will notice that the app is now installed on your iOS device. Another limitation you should know is every free Apple developer account comes with a 7-days provisioning profile. In other words, after a week, you will need to repeat this process again for the app to work.
Same thing on Xcode as well. This is something to do with Apple, not Cydia Impactor. It has helped out a lot of users, especially the one using Windows with no experience running virtual machines.
If you’re trying to run Cydia Impactor on Windows
…you definitely need to have iTunes installed for this tool to work (for different reasons).
Again, Cydia Impactor is a Xcode alternative for Windows and Mac. Therefore, you do not need the tool even on macOS X.
You do not need Xcode installed to use Impactor (even for features such as signing IPA files).
